If you don't know what President Obama said to the U.N. yesterday about the Prophet Mohamed, look it up. Questions begged by this spectacularly meaningless and idiotic statement (1) who decides what is slander? (2) who decides what are appropriate sanctions? (3) What about free speech.
Incidentally, the founder of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith, was pretty seriously slandered in his own day. In fact, a bunch of Missourians believed all the accusations against him and dragged him from a jail and lynched him. Arguably, the anti-Smith slander really has not let up in recent times, either.
Is President Obama only trying to be a peacemaker, or is he so enamored of his own soaring rhetoric that he does become a serious threat to fundamental freedoms in America?
